Vasaloppsleden - 45 km Evertsberg to Mora
Evertsberg, Dysbergsvägen 3Hike through deep forests. Take a break in charming villages and picturesque mountain pastures, and experience the iconic places and checkpoints that Vasaloppet is known for.

Start and end location: You start at Evertsberg's community center and you finish under the Vasaloppet motto "In the footsteps of the future victories" on Vasagatan in Mora.
Length: 45 km.
Trail markings: Symbol for hiking with the text "Vasaloppsarenan Vasaloppsleden". NB! There are three different trails: hiking, biking and skiing. Stick to the right symbol! Orange color with hikers in picture.
Time required: 2-3 days.
Severity: Easy to navigate, flat terrain.
Environment: You pass three Vasaloppet checkpoints along the trail. Varied environment - forest paths, lovely forest roads, footbridges, cozy gravel roads. After the road you pass old fine summer pastures. The landscape is forest, marsh, cultural land, villages, summer pastures. Many sights along the trail. See link below!
Facilities: Along the trail there are log cabins, table and bench groups for breaks and toilets adjacent to cabins and log cabins. Water is available at every Vasaloppet checkpoint (summer time). Barbecue area at every slogbod and at every cottage. Other accommodation along the trail can be found in Evertsberg's community centre, Oxberg's hostel, Gopshusgården, Sandsgården in Gopshus.
Solar cell installations and the possibility of charging e.g. mobile phones, GPS, cameras etc. are available at all eight overnight sites along the trail.
Overnight: There are three overnight cabins on the trail between Evertsberg and Mora. All cottages have eight beds with the exception of Sundetstugan which has 14 beds - bunk beds with galon mattresses. They are open all year round, not bookable. Equipment in the cottage: unsawn firewood, saw, axe, bucket, broom and dustpan are available on site. There are no pans in the cottages, you have to bring your own. Dogs are not allowed in the cabins and smoking is not allowed.
Cost of overnight stay in the cottages: SEK 100 per bed and night. Young people under the age of 17 stay for free. Payment is made via Swish, number 123 1960 384, recipient Stiftelsen Vasaloppsleden.
Grocery store: Shops that are open during the day are located in Mora. In Evertsberg, there is an unmanned Lifvs store open around the clock.
Parking: Park your car in Mora - see Mora municipality's website.
Charging an electric car: Available in several places in Mora.
Public transport: Take the bus from Mora travel center to the stop "Evertsberg". Timetable via Dalatrafiken.
Trail information: The trail goes through Evertsberg and past the village farm in the village, here there is a Vasalopps stone with an inscription of the Vasaloppet runner who skis the fastest to Evertsberg every year in the Vasaloppet and receives the "Mountain prize".
Evertsberg's chapel, dating from the 16th century, is open during the summer. The current chapel was rebuilt in 1750. Here you can see an old poorhouse, Lazarus' collection box, an altar cabinet probably made in Nuremberg in Germany in 1450 with peculiar wall paintings around the windows.
At the foot of the Boggberget is the Gammelgården and the beautiful chapel.
After Evertsberg there is a road that leads up to the top of Boggberget with a wide view of the Dala landscape. Then it goes steeply downhill to Rutmyran. At Vasslan, the trail passes under Vasaloppsvägen. There is a rest area with a slog shed next to the river Vasslen. The trail then runs on the mountain side in a lush forest environment. The trail takes off from the Vasaloppsspåret to Axikojan at Axiån.
At Axiån is an impressive newly restored grist mill. Old millstones form tables and seats.
Björnarvet's cottage is beautifully situated in a birch forest on the slope down towards Oxbergssjön. The trail follows Oxbergssjön in a rich forest environment. Before Oxberg you come to the famous Lundbäcksbacken.
In Oxberg there is a Vasalopp control and here you can fill up your water bottle. You pass Oxberg's chapel opposite the Hostel.
Oxberg - Hökberg Adjacent to Hökberg's shack is the 3.5 kilometer Utsiktsrundan. Mora Nisse noticed this tour in the late 60s. It has now received new markings, turquoise dots, by Nisse's daughter Karin. A perfect sightseeing tour. If you choose this round, your pulse is guaranteed to increase. Once at the top, the fine view awaits as a reward. Have a coffee there!
Hökberg - Mora A little less than 20 kilometers to Mora. In addition to the Vasaloppet Target and the Vasaloppet House, the Zornmuseet and the Zorngården, which belong to one of Sweden's most famous artists' homes, await here. One hundred years ago, the Zorns' home functioned as a hub in Dalarna's cultural life with guests such as Carl and Karin Larsson, Bruno Liljefors and Prince Eugen. Stepping into the house is like traveling 100 years back in time. Next door to Zorngården is Mora church, which is one of the stateliest rural churches with the oldest parts from the 13th century. The spire is from 1673 and 74 meters high. Right next to the church is the bell tower and shortly after this walk ends.

You are not allowed to walk and cycle on private land. It is possible to camp at the cottage and along the trail, but not on private land. Fishing license via ifiske.
