It was in Skräddargården that the model for the grey Dala horse that later became the Rättvik horse was found! The buildings on the farm date from around 1800.
Skräddargården in Östra Stumsnäs consists of eight buildings that stand in a square in their original location. The main house, the semi-detached cottage, consists of one half that has been moved here from elsewhere in Östra Stumsnäs and of a large cottage that has been moved here from Boda Kyrkby. The halves have since been built together and between them there is a hill chamber and a porch.
Next to Skräddargården there is an interesting natural monument (sign), to the left, about 5 minutes walk down towards Siljan's beach - a protected pine where the high water levels in the event of floods from the years 1846, 1860 and 1869 are carved.
The courtyard is open throughout the summer for visits and excursions with your own coffee basket. Guided tours are pre-booked. Voluntary collection in mailbox!
