An unique place in the middle of the wilderness! Only accessible on foot, or skies/snowshoes. Located inside the southern part of Fulufjället National Park. Available all year!

Björnholmssätern is an old summer farm on the southern slopes of mount Fulufjället. When the Swedish state took over the farm as the national park was founded the cabin became an unique place for the public to enjoy the wilderness. The cabin can be reached on foot summertime, or on skies/snowshoes during the winter.
Situated along the ´southern Kingstrail' inside the national park. A great base to explore the other side of Fulufjället national park. The very popular and well visited Njupeskär waterfall is 25 km birds way north. About 2 days hiking.
Björnholmssätern is online bookable, which means you can make a reservation while planning your trip/hike and that you will have the cabin just for yourselves.

Take road 311 southbound from Särna, or northbound from Sälen. At Sörsjön follow the signs 'Fulufjället national park' Storbron. Stay on the dirt road to the west. Do NOT take the roads to Mörbäcksätern, or Näsfjället.
The road ends in Storbron. You will find space for parking close to the abandoned house. In the winter you park where the snowplow has stopped plowing. Usually where an old demolished park is left in the woods next to the road.
Start hiking northbound along the trail marked with red crosses. After about 3 km, past the Björnholmsstugan you will find the Björnholmssätern at your left from the trail along the river bank.
