The Mine Side 19 - Konsthallen

You have now reached the very last stop, stop 19, of the children's tour, The Mine Side. We are almost back. But first, you have to look at this building. It's the art gallery of Dalarna Museum. Do you see up there on the wall? It's Pippi, her horse Lilla Gubben, and the monkey Herr Nilsson!

Or wait, maybe it's another girl, another horse, and another monkey. The artist carved it out of an expensive stone called marble. Many artists were drawn to Falun and wanted to make the city more beautiful. The city was famous thanks to the mine. Some artists even moved here. Carl Larsson was one of them, as well as the author Selma Lagerlöf and many others. Speaking of Selma, she's over there on the other side of the river! Not in person, of course, but as a sculpture.
