You have now reached stop 10 of "The Mine Side" children's tour.
In this house, there's a man named "Igge" who is a blacksmith. He has a very exciting profession. By an open fire, he creates various objects. He makes necklaces, candlesticks, bowls, and much more out of iron.
The iron needs to be very hot so that he can hammer and shape it as he desires.
In the past, the blacksmith was a very important person. People would go to him to shoe their horses, put iron on the wooden wheels of their wagons, and order different tools. If someone had a toothache, they would also visit the blacksmith! He could pull out the troublesome tooth.
Uven: "Ouch, that sounds scary!"
But Igge doesn't pull out any teeth. He crafts beautiful items that people want to buy. And he also makes something else: a "rövskrapa"!
If you run out of toilet paper, you can use it. In the past, people never used toilet paper. It simply didn't exist. They used moss outdoors or a "rövskrapa." It was usually made of wood and hung on the wall in the outhouse. This one is made of iron, of course.
