Alfvéngården

A resonating cultural treasure in the heart of Dalarna. Alfvéngården, originally the home of the beloved composer Hugo Alfvén, is now a popular visitor destination.

At Alfvéngården, Alfvén's home is preserved as it was during his time. Here, there are stories about a great musical personality and Sweden's largest collection of his art. Hugo Alfvén lived an exciting life from 1872 to 1960. He composed many of our frequently performed orchestral works, such as *Midsommarvaka* and *Dalarapsodi*. Among his music, we also find choral arrangements of *Uti vår Hage*, which nearly all Swedish choirs have sung at some point. During the summer, Alfvéngården becomes a venue for concerts. In the garden, with a view over the Österdalälven river, live music resonates as invited musicians perform at Alfvéngården. Check the website for the summer program.
